In Everlasting Remembrance

Streetlights

Burn & crackle
Bit by bit the skies glow
Not by the twinkling of Heaven's eyes
Nor the sparkling mirror of the 15th
Now dye the skies a fiery crimson
Humming along a rythm of illuminance
As the machines churn & the chimneys smoke
The big old industrial age lingers on
In the red midnight mist that shrouds
The empty roads of flustering newspapers
Flicker no more these electrical fires
A constant stream of nostalgia
Floods of thoughts
Gorges of emotions
Swarms through the epic millenia battleground
Where love is forged in the fires of the soul
A ringing resonance to the rush of red mist down the streets
Overwhelming

And the second hand ticks
Everything was quiet again.
